If you want to preserve your smile, then you need to watch your diet. Your diet may contain products that look innocuous or are safe for your waistline, but might not be safe for your gum line. For a healthier and safer smile, read on.

Be cautious about eating sticky or chewy foods that tend to cling to your teeth and gums, including gummy candies and other sugary sweets. The longer these food particles are in contact with your teeth, the greater the likelihood that decay will occur.

Furthermore, stay away from foods that are extremely tough in texture or hard. Biting into foods that are too hard will put your teeth at a tremendous risk. If necessary, find a way to soften tougher food before eating it, or eliminate the product from your diet entirely. The snack is not worth the risk of damaging your teeth.
